next up from the always eclectic rong music, better known as a founding member of kid creole & the coconuts and dr buzzards original savannah band, coati has worked with some truly amazing names, tito puente, wyclef jean, grace jones, madonna, sly & robbie and the roots to name a few... here we have a 3 track sampler from a forthcoming album project on rong, entitled "dancing for the cabana code in the land of boo-hoo", showcasing coati mundi's very eclectic musical career. coati's had a lot of time to reflect on the world he created and what the world may be ready for now. this marks his ferocious return and he's is definitely prepared to take us into the future. the tracks have not only a strikingly modern sound, produced by rough trade acolyte and willesden's own elan polushko, but one that's double-dipped in the flavor that only years of experience could bring. you can definitely hear some of that classic kid creole-vibe on the title track, a tight disco track with avant structures you'd find only in groups like dinosaur l or the clash. move on to 'bundas bom' to be struck by his new sound that's deep, dark, hypnotizing and pumping like dirty house mixed with voodoo like perc and live instruments. the last track 'dancing disco' takes it back to an uplifting vibe with a hard rhythm section, funky basslines and gorgeous key work.
